Modern SAABs in the uk come in 2 flavours, 9-3 and 9-5. Choosing between the two is harder than you may think.
9-3 was SAABs Entry level car aimed directly at A4, C-class and 3-series. With an amazing range of options to choose from for the era and an awful lot of advancements in technology, 9-3 isn't a car to pass up in a hurry, things such as 4 wheel steering, alloy wheels (on all but base model) all round electric windows, air-conditioning and the worlds best heater all as standard, it really is an advanced car. saloons offer reasonable boot space combined with sharp looks and precise handling, while estates offer amazing rear head room a large load space and futuristic rear lights. Convertible models trade the practicality (although the boot isn't one to laugh at!) for the open top experience, and with a heater good enough to cook a chicken... it is well and truly a 4 season cabriolet.
9-5 is a far more sophisticated car, while Aero models come with up to 260bhp out the box (300bhp if you've got a Hirsch) and all the chassis dynamics of a sports car, it is an all round respectable car. Wagons come with more cubby holes in the boot than you can shake a stick at and enough room inside for at least 3 houses, saloons feature enough rear leg room for 6' individuals and a boot big enough for a fair few bodies!! All 9-5 models have the worlds comfiest seats and feature SAABs amazing Anti whiplash head restraints.
Both 9-3 and 9-5 are advanced, comfortable, large cars, if you need to haul loads and carry large or lots of people, 9-5 is your steed, if you want a sporty, fun to drive, well equipped car, 9-3 is for you.
